I have been a heavy user of PDF files for years. I wanted to work from my laptop computer anywhere, without carrying a briefcase of printed-up PDF files, so I wanted to be able to recall my PDF files at the touch of a button as though I had left them open on my "desk" the night before.

The solution was to create a toolbar button in Acrobat that could "flag" a page, and a hotkey/tray icon/toolbar button that could retrieve that very page at any time in the future.

Typically I use FlagIt to flag the first page of every PDF file I save to my computer. By clicking a toolbar button, I can browse the first pages of every file I've flagged. (They are actually copies of the first page. I can open the original file by clicking on a green "tab" on the page.) Also, whenever I have a page I might need in the future, even in the middle of a file, I flag it, adding it to a category. Later, I pull it up without thinking twice, by date most recently flagged within the desired category or categories, date most recently viewed, or by most often viewed pages.
